6. Kegunaan IP dan Subnetmask

Definisi

IP merupakan sebuah alamat host yang terdiri dari angka decimal 32 bit yang dipisahkan 3 titik tiap 8 bit nya, atau bisa dikatakan terdiri dari 4 oktet dan tiap oktetnya dipisahkan oleh titik. IP terdiri N (netid) dan H (host).
Contoh : 199.168.100.50 (N.N.N.H) (oktet1.oktet2.oktet3.oktet4)

Kelas IP

IP dibagi menjadi 4 berdasarkan kelas untuk memanagemant / mengetahui mana jaringan kecil dan mana jaringan yang besar

Jenis IP

  1. IP dibedakan menjadi 2 yaitu :
    IP Privat adalah IP yang bisa digunakan hanya sebatas local area saja
  2. alamat tersebut adalah :
    • Kelas A : 10.0.0.1 - 10.255.255.254
    • Kelas B : 172.16.0.1 - 172.31.255.254
    • Kelas C : 192.168.0.1 - 192.168.255.254

  3. IP Public adalah IP yang dapat digunakan oleh khalayak umum (publik) sehingga bisa diakses dari manapun (internet)

Subnet Mask

Merupakan tehnik untuk mengambil bit dari field/oktet hostid agar terbentuk suatu alamat jaringan netid / subnetid.
Subnet mask sama seperti halnya IP yaitu terdiri dari 32 bit. Angka digit 1 (satu) pada subnet mask menunjukkan bahwa bit tersebut adalah bagian dari netid (alamat jaringan) sedangkan Angka digit 0 menunjukkan bagian hostid (alamat host)

Subnet Mask Default

Subnet mask harus diberikan saat sebuah jaringan / saat IP dikonfigurasikan, walaupun tidak ada subnetting yang dipergunakan. Subnet mask default adalah sebagai berikut

Subnet mask ditentukan dengan memberikan nilai 1 pada bit yang bersesuaian dengan field / oktet Netid pada alamat kelas tersebut. contoh 255.0.0.0 adalah subnet mask yang salah bila digunakan untuk IP address kelas C. jadi kalau kita menggunakan IP kelas C, maka subnet mask yang kita gunakan adalah 255.255.255.0

Subnetting

subnetting merupakan mekanisme untuk menggunakan beberapa bit dalam field / oktet hostid sebagai sebuah subnetid. Jadi bisa dikatakan sebuah ip (host ) diambil untuk digunakan sebagai subnetid / sub jaringan
Tanpa subnetid (hanya menggunakan subnet mask default) Sebuah IP diinterpretasikan menjadi dua field yaitu : netid + hostid
dengan adanya subnetid maka interpretasinya menjadi 3 field yaitu : netid + subnetid + hostid

Pembatasan Alamat IP

Beberapa alamat IP mempunyai penggunaan khusus yang sudah ditentukan fungsi-fungsinya dan tidak boleh digunakan sebagai IP address. IP yang mempunyai kegunaan khusus ini sebagian orang mengatakan sebagai IP spesial.

Adapun IP yang mempunyai kegunaan khusus ini adalah :

  • Netid dan hostid 0 (biner 00000000) difungsikan sebagai alamat jaringannya sendiri
  • Netid 127 (biner 01111111) digunakan sebagai IP Loopback. yang berfungsi memeriksa konfigurasi jaringan host. Paket atau pesan-pesan yang dikirimkan ke alamat ini tidak di kirim ke jaringan tatapi hanya dikembalikan lagi.
  • Hostid 255 semua binernya memiliki nilai 1 (11111111) difungsikan sebagai alamat broadcasting. yaitu bila suatu paket atau pesan dikirim ke alamat ini akan di kirimkan ke seluruh host dalam jaringan.

Syarat menentukan/konfigurasi IP pada komputer

Ada beberapa aspek yang perlu diperhatikan dalam mengkofigurasi IP, agar komputer tersebut bisa saling berkomunikasi :

  1. Jangan menggunakan IP Khusus seperti yang telah disebutkan diatas
    • Tidak boleh menggunakan netid / oktet pertama 0 (nol)
      Contoh : 0.10.10.200 atau 0.168.12.95
    • Tidak boleh menggunakan hostid / oktet terakhir 0 (nol)
      Contoh : 10.10.10.0 atau 192.168.12.0
    • Tidak boleh menggunakan IP loopback
      Contoh : 127.0.0.1 atau 127.100.10.10
    • Tidak boleh menggunakan hostid / oktet terakhir 255
      Contoh 192.168.255.255 atau 192.168.10.255 atau 10.10.10.255
  2. Jangan menggunakan IP yang sama dengan IP host lain
    Contoh : Komputer A IP nya 192.168.0.10 sedangkan Komputer B IP nya juga sama dengan IP Komputer A yaitu 192.168.0.10
  3. Jangan menggunakan nama komputer yang sama satu dengan yang lain
  4. Gunakan domain yang sama (untuk workgroup tidak harus sama)
  5. Bagi pemula sebaiknya gunakan subnet mask default

Menentukan Alamat Jaringan

Seperti yang sudah dijelaskan pada bagian Subnet mask dan subnetting bahwa subnet mask digunakan untuk memperoleh Alamat jaringan yang kita inginkan.
Alamat jaringan bisa kita kalkulasikan antara IP address dengan Subnet mask menggunakan operator AND (&)

Sebelum kita melakukan kalkulasi, perlu kita ketahui karakteristik dari operator AND (&) tersebut. Operan AND (&) akan bernilai TRUE (biner 1) apabila keduanya bernilai TRUE

  • Bila kedua nilai adalah TRUE maka hasilnyaTRUE
  • Bila salah satu adalahTRUE dan yang lainnya FALSE maka hasilnya FALSE
  • Bila kedua nilai adalah FALSE maka hasilnya adalah FALSE

7. Pemberian nomor IP dan subnetmask

IP Addressing



Introduction


This section looks at IP addressing, subnet masking, Private and Special addresses. Examples are provided to illustrate the methodology when setting up an IP network addressing scheme. We also look at Wildcard masks and Directed Broadcasts.

IP Address Classes


Unique IP (Internet Protocol) addresses are assigned to each physical connection of a device to a network, therefore if a device (host) has more than one connection to a network or networks, then it will have more than one IP address.

An IP address is represented as four decimal integers, with each integer corresponding to one byte this means an IP address is 32 bits long as per the following example:-

IP addresses are divided into two parts, a Network ID and a Host ID each of which can be of varying bit lengths but always making 32 bits altogether.

Hint:- Use the Windows calculator to convert binary to decimal and vice versa.

There are five primary classes of IP addresses and it is the high order 3 bits of the address which identify the class as shown below:-

Class A addresses contain 7 bits in the network portion giving 27 - 2 = 126 possible networks since all 1's and all 0's are not allowed. Consequently 24 bits remain for the host portion allowing a total of 224 - 2 = 16,777,214 hosts. 127.0.0.0/8 is reserved for loopback address purposes where just 127.0.0.1 is used normally. The address 255.255.255.255 is used as broadcast addresses and 0.0.0.0 as a default route address, meaning any network. The address 0.0.0.0 is sometimes used by hosts that have yet to receive an IP address e.g. a DHCP Client awaiting an address from the DHCP server.

Class B addresses contain 14 bits in the network portion allowing 214 - 2 = 16,384 possible networks, and 16 bits for the host portion allowing a possible total number of 216 - 2 = 65,534 hosts.

Class C addresses contain 21 bits for the network portion giving a possible total of 221 - 2 = 2,097,152 networks, and 8 bits for the host portion giving a possible 28 - 2 = 254 hosts.

Class D addresses are used for multicasting and Class E addresses are used in research.

Historically, a company may have been allocated just one Class A, B or C IP address by the Network Information Centre (NIC). Currently, all Class A addresses have been allocated and most if not all of the Class B addresses have gone. If a company have a number of networks to manage then the network administrator may wish to subnet his network, that is create subnet addresses within the scope of the IP address that the administrator has been given.

Subnets


Subnetting Example


A customer has been given an IP address of 128.100.0.0 (a Class B address) for his company. He has specified that he requires 3 separate networks with the maximum possible number of host connections on each network.

The first two octets 128.100 are fixed since these are given by NIC as the Class B address, therefore we have the last two octets to play with. Let us examine the possibilities more closely:
  1. The address given

  1. We need to create a minimum of 3 different subnets but not at the expense of the number of host addresses available to us. The following process would seem to give us 4 permutations of subnets:
    Looking at octet 3 specifically in binary, let us just use the first 2 bits for a subnet address:

    The possible combinations for the first two bits are:
    11 = 192 -> 128.100.192.0
    10 = 128 -> 128.100.128.0
    01 = 64 -> 128.100.64.0
    00 = 0 -> 128.100.0.0
    However all 1's and all 0's used to be not allowed for a subnet. These subnets are called the All One's Subnet and Subnet Zero. The reason for this was that older software found it difficult to distinguish between networks 128.100.0.0/16 and the all-zeros subnet 128.100.0.0/18. The same was true of the all-ones subnet. RFC 950 therefore rules out '11' and '00' as useable subnets, we are therefore left with only two subnet addresses instead of the 3 we require.
  1. Let us try and use an extra bit in octet 3:

    As before all 1's and all 0's are not permitted for subnets, therefore we are left with 6 possible subnets (23 - 2):-

  1. This leaves the rest of the bits (from power 16 downwards) in octet 3 and all the bits in octet 4 to construct the individual host addresses, the permutations amount to many thousands of hosts which should be plenty. Below is an example of a host address in subnet 128.100.192.0:-
    128.100.194.23

    On first inspection it would appear that address 128.100.194.23 has nothing to do with the subnet 128.100.192.0, so let us look a little more closely at the final two octets of the host address:

    As we can see we are indeed part of the 128.100.192.0 subnet since it is only the first three bits of octet 3 which are used for the subnet address. All the bits from power 16 and downwards are allocated to the host address, so the power 2 bit just turns octet 3 from decimal 192 to decimal 194. Confusion frequently arises in this situation where the dividing line between the network portion of the IP address and the host portion rests part way through an octet (in this case between power 32 and power 16 of octet 3). Often it is possible to make the network/host dividing line between octets so that you can easily tell which host address belongs to which subnet.

    Routers are used to minimise unnecessary traffic, and when running IP it is important to tell it which subnet an address is supposed to go. The way this is done, is at configuration by entering a 'subnet mask'.
The situation with the All-zeros and All-ones subnets nowadays is to allow them according to RFC 1878. This is because modern applications understand how to distinguish between these subnets and the main network.

Subnet masks
The subnet mask specifies the portion of the IP address that is going to be used for subnetworks (as opposed to hosts). For every bit position in the IP address that is part of the network ID or subnetwork ID, a '1' is set, and for every bit position in the IP address that is part of the host id portion, a '0' is set. The router uses the boolean AND operation with an incoming IP address to 'lose' the host portion of the IP address i.e. the bits that are '0', and match the network portion with its routing table. From this, the router can determine out of which interface to send the datagram. This means that the 'Don't care bits' are represented by binary 0's whilst the 'Do care bits' are represented by binary 1's.

For our example above, because we used the first three bits in octet 3 for our subnet addressing the subnet mask would be:

What is important is that the same mask is applied throughout the physical networks that share the same subnet part of the IP address. All devices connected to the networks that compose the subnet must have the same mask.

A Broadcast Address for a subnet is when all 1's are used in the host portion of the IP address. For example, for the IP address 10.17.20.4 and a mask of 255.255.255.0 the subnet is 10.17.20.0 and the host id is 4. The broadcast address within the 10.17.20.0 subnet is when the host id portion of the address is made up of all binary 1's. In this example the host portion is the last octet and if these 8 bits are set to 1 we have a broadcast address of 10.17.20.255. You can ping this, send messages to this and so on, a single line to server a multitude of end stations.

Often you will see the network mask represented as a number of bits e.g. for the above example address of 10.17.20.4 with a mask of 255.255.255.0, this can also be represented as 10.17.20.4/24, where the 24 represents 24 bits (3 octets) set to 1.

Another Subnetting Example


Study the schematic below:

Subnets

The network drawing above shows the IP address map for a WAN installation carried out for a large financial institution. The customer had installed 'Windows NT' servers at a number of sites and was requiring an ISDN link, star-wired out, from each of the sites from the main office server room. The IP addressing scheme had to take into account the following factors:-
  • Up to 30 more sites may be added to the WAN in the near future.
  • Each site could have up to 50 host connections.
  • The customer had already assigned IP addresses to some of the servers and site PC's on the local LAN's.
The IP address given to this company was 146.162.0.0 (which is a Class B address), and the decision was made to use the whole of octet 3 for the subnet addresses leaving octet 4 for the host addresses. This made assigning IP addresses more easy to carry out and gave a maximum of 254 hosts per subnet and there could be a maximum of 254 subnets, thus satisfying the customer's requirements. The subnet mask for each subnet (Whether LAN or WAN) was consequently 255.255.255.0, it is important to design the addressing scheme such that the subnet mask is common to all LAN's/WAN's throughout the network unless a routing protocol such as OSPF is to be used. OSPF allows variable subnet masking.

Whilst studying the schematic you will note that the WAN links are 146.162.90.0 to 146.162.94.0 and the router ISDN interfaces are .20 at the main office end and .10 at the remote office end. Also you will note that the server IP addresses are all .5 and the ethernet hubs are all .8 while the router ethernet interfaces are all .6. Organising addressing like this can make life much easier especially when you are hopping from site to site.

RFC 950 and RFC 1812 describes IP subnetting whereas RFC 1009 defines Variable Length Subnet Masking.

Quick tricks to find subnets and broadcast addresses


If you have a subnet mask, then it is possible to quickly list out the possible subnets and broadcast addresses.

The number by which subnets increment for a given mask is calculated by subtracting the last numbered octet in decimal from 256. For example, given the subnet 10.1.0.0 255.255.248.0, the last numbered octet is 248, therefore 256 - 248 = 8, so subnets jump up in 8's i.e. 10.1.8.0, 10.1.16.0, 10.1.24.0 etc.

Once you have found out by how much subnets jump, finding a broadcast address for each subnet is quickly done by subtracting 1 from this and adding this to each subnet. Using the above example, for subnet 10.1.8.0, the subnets jump in 8's, 8 - 1 = 7 and 8 + 7 = 15 so, taking it as given that the final octet will be all one's for the broadcast, the broadcast address is 10.1.15.255.

Wildcard Masks


You will often come across Wildcard masks, particularly if you work with OSPF and/or Cisco routers. The use of wildcard masks is most prevalent when building Access Control Lists (ACLs) on Cisco routers. ACLs are filters and make use of wildcard masks to define the scope of the address filter. Although ACL wildcard masks are used with other protocols, we will concentrate on IP here.

Let us first take a simple example. We may want to filter a sub-network 10.1.1.0 which has a Class C mask (24-bit) 255.255.255.0. The ACL will require the scope of the addresses to be defined by a wildcard mask which, in this example is 0.0.0.255. This means that the 'Don't care bits' are represented by binary 1's whilst the 'Do care bits' are represented by binary 0's. You will note that this is the exact opposite to subnet masks!

Taking a more complex example. Say we wish to filter out a subnet which is given by 10.1.1.32 having a mask of 255.255.255.224 i.e. 10.1.1.32/27. How do we find the wildcard mask for this? Well to help us, concentrating on the 4th octet, let us first look at the binary for this network and subnet mask. Then we reverse the binary bits to get the wildcard bits and then convert back to decimal to obtain the wildcard mask for the 4th octet:

The important bits have been highlighted in bold and this shows that the wildcard mask for the network 10.1.1.32/27 is 0.0.0.31.

The following table should help in seeing a pattern between the number of bits used for the mask in a particular octet, the subnet mask in decimal and the equivalent wildcard mask:

The binary for the wildcard mask is the exact reverse, bit for bit, of the subnet mask. You then calculate the decimal from the reversed binary bits to obtain the dotted decimal wildcard mask.

Private Addresses


One of the ways to combat the fast reduction in available IP address space was to introduce the concept of private addresses and the use of Network Address Translator (NAT) to allow many organisations to use the same address space but not have this space visible on the Internet i.e. to use address translation on the edge of the networks.

The Class A network address range 10.0.0.0 to 10.255.255.255 (10.0.0.0/8) is designated for private use only. This address range cannot be used on the Internet as every ISP will automatically drop the address. This address is becoming very popular as its use in conjunction with Network Address Translation (NAT) has meant that large corporations can make use of the Class A address space available within 10.0.0.0 for their own private use internally and just use NAT for those relatively few addresses that do need to operate on the Internet. This is one reason why the immediate need for IP version 6 has been diminished.

There is also the private address range 172.16.0.0 to 172.31.255.255 (172.16.0.0/12) which is the CIDR block of 16 x Class B addresses 172.16.0.0, 172.17.0.0, .... ,172.31.0.0.

The network address range 192.168.0.0 to 192.168.255.255 (192.168.0.0/16) is also for private use and is a CIDR block of 256 x Class C addresses 192.168.0.0, 192.168.1.0, .... ,192.168.255.0.

Other Special addresses


The address range 0.0.0.0/8 is currently considered throughout the Internet as for special use. Note that this is different from the host address 0.0.0.0/32 which means 'default'. You can have legitimate addresses in the range 0.0.0.0/16, e.g. 0.0.123.95/16.

The address range 192.0.2.0/24 is called the Test Net and is reserved for use in testing examples and documentation.

The address range 169.254.0.0/16 is used for auto-configuration of IP addresses if a DHCP server should fail and there is no backup for the DHCP Clients. This is described in RFC 2563 Stateless Auto-configuration.

Directed Broadcasts


The RFC 1812 overviews the requirements of routers to run IPv4. One of the requirements is that routers MUST, by default accept Directed Broadcasts (although it is allowable to have a switch that turns this off). A directed broadcast is one where the IP broadcast has been sent to a destination prefix (a net or subnet). A directed broadcast destined for the network 10.20.20.0/24 would be 10.20.20.255, for example.

8. Testing koneksi

Test Koneksi Internet menggunakan PCMCIA Sierra Aircard 875+


Sebulan yang lalu, atas provokasi dari teman saya, akhirnya saya membeli PCMCIA Sierra Aircard 875+ yang menurut situs penjualnya (jakartanotebook.com) sudah bisa sampai 7.2Mbps. Setelah menunggu hampir 3 hari akhirnya pesanan nyampe. mulailah berburu provider yang akan dipakai, dan beberapa test untuk memilih apa yang paling cocok untuk kondisi pribadi, terutama kantong hehe..

Test Pertama menggunakan Telkomsel Flash, kebetulan di lokasi saya cuman dapat sinyal GPRS, dengan tarif Rp350/menit dan bw yang didapat rasanya terlalu mahal. Sehingga memutuskan untuk beralih ke provider lain.

Test berikutnya menggunakan XL-GPRS, lumayan stabil dengan dengan tarif Rp10/kb juga masih lumayan mahal, sedangkan sebelumnya saya sering menggunakan Flexi yang cuma Rp5/kb. Tetapi ada juga produk dari XL Corporate yang lumayan menarik dengan tarif flat Rp.200rb/bulan. Sehingga minimal pembayaran kita akan menjadi Rp.200rb + minimal commitmen(Rp.35rb) + PPN = Rp. 258.500, lumayan, tetapi kabar terakhir XL-corporate untuk yang tarif flat tersebut sudah close per-juli 2007. Bisa juga sih numpang ke corporate lain, tetapi ada yang nawarin agak mahal juga, masak biaya titip sampai Rp.500rb ? Terakhir dapat info dari teman sendiri yang bisa dititipi XL-Corporate dengan tarif yang wajar, tetapi sayangnya jaminannya pake teman tersebut, ah jadi gak enak. Sebenarnya ada tarif yang flat juga dari Quasar (MobileQu Colony - quasar.net) yang membebani Rp.275rb/bln sampai akhir desember ini. ok, bisa jadi alternatif.

Dari Info teman sendiri akhirnya dikasih tahu klo Mentari - dari Indosat tarifnya lumayan murah untuk promosi -volume base Rp.1/kb atau time-base Rp.100/menit = hampir sama telkomnet instant. Browsing di internet akhirnya dapat informasi untuk pakai Mentari dengan awalan 0858XXXXXX. Ternyata di lokasi saya bisa dapat sinyal 3G.

Akhirnya saya coba untuk test pake Mentari dengan user/password : indosat@durasi dan APN : indosatgprs, begitu di koneksi langsung nyambung bagus, browsing- layar di 3G Watcher berubah menjadi HSDPA. Testing pake www.speedtest.net menghasilkan kecepatan yang lumayan top. Hasil testnya bisa dilihat di gambar berikut :



Akhirnya coba untuk download Eclipse (www.eclipse.org/download) yang sekitar 80MB itu hanya butuh waktu kurang dari 20menit, terus coba download Netbeans 6.0 yang 160MB, belum sampai 20 menit sudah dapat 100MB. wih lumayan puas dengan tarif Rp.100/menit dengan kecepatan segitu.

Salah satu keuntungan jaringan komputer adalah resource sharing ato dalam bahasa sehari-hari adalah pemakaian bersama suatu source / sumber data atau sumber daya.

Hal yg perlu diperhatikan saat akan membuat sharing di windows Xp diantaranya adalah :

  • Pastikan Blok Ip address dalam jaringan sudah sama.
  • Pastikan workgroup dalam jaringan sudah sama.
  • Pastikan computer name masing2 komputer dalam jaringan berbeda.

Cukup 3 itu saja syarat utamanya, dan untuk melakukan sharing suatu folder bisa dilakukan seperti ini :

Buka eksplore lewat klik kanan start menu –>> explorer dan cari folder yg akan kita sharing,

kemudian pilih network sharing and security dan dua opsinya di checklist / centang. klo dah selesai di Apply trus di Ok, klo sudah jadi sharingnya makan akan terlihat tanda seperti dibawah ini :

untuk cara aksesnya.. silahkan ketikkan ip komputer anda di address bar seperti dibawah ini :

Jika mau mengakses sharing data yg ada di komputer lain, tinggal merubah ip address yg ada di address bar tersebut :) bila sudah bisa dan lancar… maka sudah berhasil sharing kita.

Namun yg perlu diperhatikan jika melakukan sharing data adalah pastikan data yg anda sharing adalah data umum bukan data pribadi dan sangat rahasia…

karena kejahatan terjadi bukan hanya karena adanya niat pelaku, tp juga karena ada kesempatan… waspadalah waspadalah ;)

Ambil Data NTFS dengan FAT via Network

Bagi sebagian pihak, menyimpan data dengan format NTFS (NT File System) dipercaya lebih aman dibanding dengan format FAT (File Allocation Table). Apalagi format partisi NTFS-nya dikompresi oleh OS Windows XP SP2, 2003, atau Vista. Format NTFS mampu mencegah orang lain mengcopy-paste file-file di PC (personal computer) melalui jaringan LAN.

Teori di atas setengah benar (half truth). Sebenarnya, pencegahan hanya efektif bila pihak “musuh” menggunakan PC/harddisk yang berformat NTFS juga, tetapi tidak berpengaruh nyata (significant) untuk PC yang berformat FAT.

Tools yang musti dilengkapi :

.o1. Terkoneksi dengan PC lain via jaringan LAN, Bluetooth, atau WirelessLan (WLAN).
.o2. Memiliki hardisk atau Disk Memori (USB) berformat FAT (/32).
.o3. Folder, data, atau file di PC target harus “open share”.


Catatan :

Bagi anda yang hardisknya tidak atau belum terpartisi format FAT, silahkan bikin partisi tambahan dengan format FAT atau FAT32. Tool yang bisa digunakan a.l: partition magic, norton partition, etc. Untuk me-check apakah status format file system hardisk NTFS atau FAT32, sorot salah satu drive, misalnya drive H:\, klik kanan, selanjutnya sorot dan klik menu “Properties”. Pada Gambar 1 terlihat status “File system” untuk drive H:\ milik kangtatantakwa adalah FAT32.

Setelah kita mendapatkan folder yang di-share via network, selanjutnya lakukan drag-&-drop (copy-paste) file dari PC target ke PC kita.

Pada Gambar 3 merupakan kondisi penolakan oleh PC target pada saat melakukan drag-&-drop (copy-paste) file dari PC target ke PC kangtatantakwa. Penolakan atau proteksi ini terjadi karena: (1) pemilik PC target memasang/mengaktifkan secara default (Windows Security Alert) firewall plus antivirus yang ada di controll panel; (2) pada saat melakukan modus operandi, kangtatantakwa masih menggunakan drive yang status file system-nya NTFS.

Gambar 3 Hampir di setiap file NTFS terdapat informasi pesan 'KAVICHS'. Layanan ini sudah sepaket dengan antivirus Kaspersky Anti-Virus (KAV) yang ada dalam system operation. Informasi tersebut ditulis atau diletakan pada file's additional data stream. Bahkan sekalipun KAV di-uninstall atau diganti dengan Anti-Virus (AV) lain, informasi tersebut tidak akan hilang, karena tidak akan dihapus oleh sistem operasi (OS Win).

Catatan :

Pada file system FAT /32 informasi atau pesan 'KAVICHS' tidak bekerja dengan baik, dan cenderung tidak aktif (inactive).

Gambar 4 Gambar 4 merupakan kondisi dimana kita mendapatkan akses ketika mencoba mentransfer data target ke drive yang berstatus file system FAT32. Selanjutnya klik Yes to All. Pada kotak Confirm Stream Loss di atas menginformasikan bahwa data target yang akan dicopy akan kehilangan kemampuan proteksinya. Artinya pada saat data ditransfer ke drive FAT, informasi :KAVICHS:$DATA-nya akan hilang. ITU tidak penting, yang penting adalah file-file target berhasil kita ambil.

11. Koneksi ke internet via telepon rumah

Telkomnet Instan adalah salah satu jenis layanan dari PT. Telkom Indonesia dalam hal koneksi sambungan internet. Telkomnet instan dapat digunakan oleh seluruh pengguna telepon telkom baik telepon tetap rumah maupun telepon nirkabel telkom flexi cdma.

Untuk menikmati layanan mudah, cepat dan hemat ini ada beberapa persyaratan yang musti anda penuhi terlebih dahulu, yaitu :

1. Komputer PC atau Laptop yang masih berfungsi dengan baik
2. Modem dial up untuk jack kabel telepon biasa internal maupun eksternal. Jangan lupa dengan driver modem jika diperlukan.
3. Kabel sambungan telepon telkom yang nomernya masih aktif
4. Setting dasar untuk koneksi ke server telkomnet instan

Jika semua syarat telah bisa anda penuhi maka seting pada internet connection di control panel untuk konek ke telkomnet instan adalah sebagai berikut :

- Nomor Akses : 0809 8 9999
- User name : telkomnet@instan
- Password : telkom

Setelah setting anda bisa konek ke internet dengan membuka kotak dialog internet connection lalu tekan tombol connect. Nanti otomatis komputer kita akan konek ke telkom dan jika berhasil maka akan ada tampilah perhitungan waktu koneksi dan tombol disconnect untuk memutus hubungan internet.

Tarif internet telkomnet instat normal adalah Rp. 165 per menit. Saat ini berlaku tarif khusus promosi Rp. 100 permenit di hari akhir pekan sabtu dan minggu karena pada hari tersebut resource koneksi telkom tidak banyak yang akses, sehingga telkom mencari cara untuk menjual bandwidth traffic yang tidak terpakai hingga akhir tahun.

Untuk mengetahui apakah daerah wilayah sekitar anda sudah dapat menikmati telkomnet instant anda dapat menghubungi atau menelpon nomor 080989999 dari pesawat telepon anda. Jika ada bunyi modem / fax seperti bunyi cicitan tikus yang kesakitan maka berarti daerah anda sudah bisa menikmati akses internet mudah, capat, tapi koneksi belum tentu terjamin.

Untuk akses internet yang lebih cepat anda bisa menggunakan sambungan telkom speedy adsl yang lebih cepat dengan biaya bulanan bandwidth dibatasi.

Tips :
Pastikan anda memutuskan koneksi / disconnect dari sambungan internet dan mencabut kabel dari komputer pc atau laptop / notebook anda karena beberapa kasus pulsanya jalan terus sehingga mengakibatkan kerugian fatal bisa mencapai jutaan rupiah.

12.Koneksi ke internet ke jaringan yang sudah ada

Ada orang...Net..net..net...(bla..bla) kasihan deh lu !!!, itu bunyi iklan yang akhir-akhir ini sering terdengar di TV dari salah satu operator selular yang menawarkan koneksi internet via jaringan selularnya. Iklannya sih cukup profokatif dan membuat penasaran saja (itu memang tujuannya, orang iklan ada-ada aja idenya) tapi apa kemampuan koneksinya memang sesuai dengan iklannya ???.

Koneksi via jaringan selular sebenarnya sudah ada sejak teknologi 2.5G (GPRS) mulai ada Indonesia tetapi pemanfaatannya kurang begitu signifikan banyak konsumen tetap menggunakan jaringan via telepon (dial-up) atau yang akhir-akhir ini marak lewat jaringan wifi untuk bisa koneksi dengan internet, kenapa itu terjadi ? ini disebabkan koneksi lewat GPRS masih dirasa mahal karena perhitungan tarifnya berdasarkan banyak data bukan berdasarkan waktu (tapi ini sebenarnya cukup menghemat bila digunakan untuk mendownload karena berdasarkan jumlah data dan GPRS punya kecepatan lebih kencang dibanding dial-up).

Baik kita ke topik lagi soal kemampuan koneksinya alias kecepatan transfer datanya dari produk yang ditawarkan salah satu operator seluler yang berbasis CDMA ini memang untuk kemampuan transfer datanya dibandingkan dengan dial-up (Max 56 Kbps dengan rata-rata kecepatan transfer antara 33-43 kbps) pasti menang tapi bila dibandingkan dengan GPRS (160 Kbps) pasti menang GPRS meskipun beda kecepatan transfer datanya tidak jauh hanya 16 Kbps, ini karena teklologi yang gunakan oleh operator ini masih pada generasi 2.5G berbasis CDMA atau CDMA2000 1x yang punya kecepatan transfer data sampai 144 Kbps (meski saya dapat informasi dari situsnya kecepatan dapat sampai 153.6 kbps atau mampu mendownload hingga 1.1 MB per menitnya pada kecepatan maksimumnya) terkecuali bila telah menggunakan jaringan teknologi 3G berbasis CDMA alias CDMA 2000 1x EV/EVDO kecepatan transfer bisa sampai 2,4 Mbps, yang setahu saya baru Cuma satu operator yang telah mendukung dan menawarkan jaringan utuk transfer data, Cuma alatnya harus beli lagi dan cukup mahal sekitar 1.5jt-an tapi untuk operator yang lagi dibahas ini menegeluarkan harga alatnya yang berupa seperti flashdisk seperti yang diiklannya di TV menenawarkan harga sekitar 600-ribuan. Jadi disimpulkan kecepatan transfer datanya dari produk operator ini bukan hisapan jempol itu bila dibanding dengan dial-up.

Lalu apa ada teknologi yang lain utuk keneksi ke internet, sebenarnya masih ada teknologi berbasis selular yaitu HSDPA (3.5G) salah satu operator selular besar di Indonesia menawarkan fasilitas ini dengan hitungan biaya per waktu, HSDPA mempunyai kecepatan transfer datanya bisa sampai 7.2 Mbps, lalu ada yang lain?, cara yang lain adalah berlangganan dengan ISP baik lewat kabel atau lewat wifi atau ingin yang gratis kita pergi ke hotspot saja yang banyak bertebaran di mall atau dicafe (ini khusus di kota besar) lalu untuk yang di daerah harap sabar dan terpaksa pakai dial-up dulu, moga-moga infrasuktur komunikasi di Indonesia semakin merata dan biaya koneksi-nya turun.
